QQQ At Target

Hey Guys!

In the weekend SubStack, the target low for QQQ this week was set at 675, with a significant rally expected to begin once it was achieved.

I had anticipated a bounce on Monday and Tuesday, followed by a sell-off down to that 675 level later in the week. Instead, the market has chosen to drop straight to the 675 target without any bounce.

QQQ 675 was hit precisely this morning, triggering a solid bounce. It is now being retested.

This is a critical area for the market to hold.

As I shared with the team in Discord today, the market’s ultimate objective has always been to complete a Weekly Sell Signal by the fall. That path pointed to a divergent high in $SPX in August, followed by an aggressive sell into October to finish the signal.

For this scenario to unfold, the market needs to defend the QQQ 675 zone this week.

Note for End of Month

Since launching the SubStack and Discord more than two years ago, I have not taken a true vacation. We have made a couple of trips to our home in Tennessee, but those were working vacations.

I will be heading to Oahu with the family on the following dates:

• Vacation Dates: July 31st – August 5th

• I will continue writing SubStacks throughout the trip

• I will also be in the Discord for the first 1–2 hours after the market opens each morning.

The main change will be my Discord schedule. I plan to be present for the first 1–2 hours each day, then spend the remainder of the day with my family in Oahu.

It’s been eight weeks since my Quant triggered the Exhaustion Signal on June 2nd, at which point I moved to 50% cash.

Since then, the market has remained locked in a Corrective Structure and has yet to make new all-time highs.

Last week’s action only reinforced the pressure. Escalating Middle East tensions—Houthi strikes on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea and fresh U.S. threats of “major military punishment” against Iran—sent Brent crude briefly above $100 for the first time since May.

That spike, combined with rising Treasury yields, quickly overshadowed the midweek relief from cooler inflation data - the first monthly CPI decline since 2020.

Then came the Big Tech earnings hits: Alphabet and Tesla both reported negative free cash flow, with Alphabet hiking its 2026 AI CapEx guidance to a massive $195–205 billion range. The result was a sharp selloff in semiconductor and AI-related names that dragged the Nasdaq lower into the weekend, even as oil prices pulled back slightly on Friday amid faint hopes of renewed peace talks.

As of Friday’s close, the S&P 500 sat 2.6% below its June peak, while the Nasdaq 100 had already declined 8.3%.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a SubStack noting that I expected a full 10% correction in the Nasdaq before flipping bullish again. Well, $NDX now has just 1.7% left to hit that target.

That lines up perfectly with the final low I am expecting over the next five to seven days. That would put the bottom—and the subsequent bullish flip—somewhere between now and August 4th. My favored days for that final low remain July 30th or August 3rd.

Forecast

Let’s dive into why I expect August to be bullish. There are three main reasons:

First, the same Quant that flagged the Nasdaq flipping bearish back on June 2nd is now sitting right on the verge of a Buy Signal. This would be the first Buy Signal the Quant has generated since March 31st, and I fully expect it to trigger sometime in the next five to seven days.

Second, the Bullish Percent Index—a classic market-breadth gauge that simply measures the percentage of stocks currently trading in bullish trends—has fallen to 30 as of Friday’s close. When this index drops below 30, market internals are considered thoroughly “washed out.” That’s the zone where major lows are most often forged, and we’re sitting right at those extreme washout levels.

Third, during mid-term election years, August has historically been a bullish month—and I fully expect this year to follow the same pattern.

Combine washed-out market internals, a Quant Buy Signal that is now extremely close, and favorable bullish seasonality, and we have the recipe for an aggressive rally to begin soon.

Note for Next Week

The Neoclouds have begun their Wave 2 pullback exactly as anticipated.

We exited NBIS and WYFI right near the precise top.

The Signals guided me.

From a big-picture perspective, less is more in this market. Conditions remain extremely choppy, with numerous failed setups—positions that look well-structured yet fail to generate meaningful follow-through.

As a result, I remain in a 50% cash position and highly selective about any new positions.

One point I want to stress: the real money in this market is made on Weekly Buy Signals.

Many stocks will eventually trigger fresh Weekly Buy Signals, likely in October. There will come a time to rotate back into tech heavily, but until then the priority is capital preservation.

I will guide you every step of the way.

I will break all of this down in detail in the Weekend SubStack on Sunday.

For now the focus remains simple:

1. Preserve capital.

2. Take only selective trades.

A bullish window is expected to open sometime next week and extend through August 21. During that period the S&P 500 could push to new all-time highs, while the Nasdaq could hit either a double top or higher high.

Market Structure Update

The market remains in a Corrective Structure.

Based on Signals from the Quant, I currently do not see a bottom forming in the market next week.

I continue to monitor our long-held framework for the S&P 500.

Here are the two charts I first started posting on SubStack a month ago.

I have always preferred the first chart, which projects a low of $SPX 7,183. The second chart was Option #2.

Three important points:

1. I remain 50% in cash in my long-term portfolio.

2. The earliest a market low can now occur is the week of August 3rd.

3. If $SPX continues to sell lower, it must absolutely hold 7,183–7,237 for the market to remain bullish.

Current Market Structure

I expect the market to continue under the current Corrective Structure this week. That means that the Nasdaq will finally flip back to being bullish either next week or the week after.

We. Are. Getting. Close.

I have been tracking 200+ positions over the last eight weeks. I have narrowed the list down to 15 positions that I believe will perform the best in August.

As we head into next week, I will narrow the list down further to the Top 10 Best Positioned Stocks for the upcoming rally.

It’s been seven weeks since my algorithm triggered the Exhaustion Signal on June 2nd, at which point I moved to 50% cash.

Since then, the market has remained in a corrective structure and has yet to make a new all-time high.

As of Friday’s close, the S&P 500 was down 2.3%, while the Nasdaq 100 had declined 7%.

What stood out on Friday, however, was that the NDX formed a double bottom at the level of the June 9th low.

The two lows were separated by just 35 points.

June 9th Low: 28,196

July 17th Low: 28,231

That’s going to be a key level to watch going into the early part of next week. Either the double bottom holds or the market flushes another 2% lower.

The S&P 500 is in an interesting position on Monday as well. It remains on an Hourly Buy Signal that triggered on Friday. But is technically still on a Daily Sell Signal.

That opens up the possibility that the current Hourly Buy Signal is just a bounce before a lower low.

Here are the two options I see for Monday.

Option 1: The Volatility Signal triggers Monday morning and the market rallies for three days, ending on Wednesday.

Option 2: The Hourly Buy Signal flips back to an Hourly Sell Signal on Monday, and $SPX sells down into a low in the 7200’s by Wednesday.

I currently prefer Option 2, which is the structure I mapped out below.

The 7732+ target could be achieved anytime in August, once the lows in July are established.

Because the market has been so choppy over the past seven weeks, short-term price movements remain difficult to forecast with precision.

So we rely on the Signals as we receive them live when taking positions.

The key point to focus on right now is that I expect the market to turn bullish again within the next one to two weeks.

If that plays out, I anticipate the S&P 500 will make new all-time highs in August, with my target remaining at 7,732+.

For the Nasdaq 100, new all-time highs in August are possible, but a double top is equally possible at this stage of the market.

Current State of the Market

Now is the time that requires paytience. As you guys know I am not bullish here. Though I do acknowledge there could be a decent rally by mid-August

But ultimately, the market is going to create a fresh new Weekly Buy Signal. That will require selling - which I expect to mostly happen in August and September.

Keep your eyes on the prize.
